Specialised Overhaul Service P/L was incorporated in 1980 by the managing director Graham H. Smith with 30 years experience in Marine Engineering and Steam Plant Maintenance. 

1980 - 1990            This equipment was utilised whilst performing steam plant maintenance at industrial sites such as :-

Davis Gelatine - Botany, QANTAS air base - Mascot, Alsco Linen - Alexandria, Fibre Makers - St Mary's, Ashland Chemicals - Chester Hill, Multicon - St Mary's.

T. S. Fairstar - P & O Holidays, Australian Exporter - ANL,

T. S. Albatross - “V” Ships.

Specialised Overhaul Service P/L has retrofitted steam turbine drivers at Caltex AOR Kurnell refinery and Eastern Nitrogen, Kooragang Island.

1990 - present        Manufactured and promoted Specialised Overhaul Service P/L ERW-1, ERW-2 & ARW-1 electric and air powered tube cleaning machines and accessories.

May 1990                Graham H. Smith Patented the “Plastic Tube Cleaner”. The rights to use the patent were exclusively licensed to Specialised Overhaul Service P/L.

October 1994         Graham H. Smith Design Registered the “Metal Bladed Tube Cleaner”. The rights to use the design registration were exclusively licensed to Specialised Overhaul Service P/L.

Feb 1995                Started manufacturing & marketing SOS “Metal Bladed Tube Cleaner”

Dec 1998                Started service work using “Metal Bladed Tube Cleaner”
